In 2003, the State of Louisiana contracted with NBBJ to develop a master plan to consolidate Charity and University Hospitals into a new state-of-the-art teaching hospital facility. WDG Engineers developed the Mechanical and Electrical Engineering requirements for the Master Plan.  The outcome of the plan was to build a 588-bed hospital in approximately the same location as the current LSU hospital will be built. The plan was then revised to the current configuration after Hurricane Katrina. Note: WDG is not on the current design team.
